inferno on standalone machine

I would like to experiment with Inferno on a
Windows 95 machine that is not connected to any network. Is there any
way to do this in loopback fashion, with both the client and server
on the same W95 machine, and NO network connection? The client
was unable to connect to the server (unknown host). Thanks!
