It will be interesting to see Java is integrated into Inferno.  Java's
``platform independence'' derives from a specific model of networking
that I believe is less powerful than Inferno's model.  Tough to get by
without platform-specific features for Inferno namespaces and
authentication.  The language itself turns some people on, but the
simple availability of the multi-platform vm has led to some porting and
grafting of other languages and concepts onto the java machine, and
analogous things are likely underway with dis.  What Java does currently
have is a rich set of graphics libs.
