User Guide Acrobat fonts

I was disappointed to see that the fonts used in the Adobe
Acrobat .pdf format user guide make it unreadable online
(at least on Windows 95) although it prints fine.
The old documentation used Times Roman, Helvetica, Times Bold
and Symbol and seemed perfectly clear.
Does anyone understand the reason for this change or is it simply
that my version of Acrobat Reader 3.0 or Windows 95 is not
configured correctly to handle the new Type 3 fonts.
