This debate will no doubt rumble on and on, however, it is worth noting that even Microsoft with their resources do not write drivers for even the most popular boards, they leave that to the hardware manufacturers. We should not distract the guys at the labs with these requests but get on and write them ourselves. Admittedly PCs are the most commonly available 'bare hardware' but I question how important the PC is to Inferno. It would be just as relevant, if not more so and just as inappropriate, to ask for a standard native port for a hub, router or PDA. Back to PCs, the important question for those without a source code licence is when will a version of the Kernel be available with dynamically loadable drivers. Michael
