I just read the Java Beans standard. I just don't get it. It seems to be 100 page document that could be 5 pages if the Java supported polymorphism. That of course assumes you thought it was a good idea in the first place - and I don't. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I thought we went through this with C++ 10 years ago. People made the same claims for components - we called it reuse then but they never came true. This is a language issue and the fact that Java uses a virtual machine rather than static code compilation is irrelevant. phil
